Foundation Director

After graduating from the Mathematical Highscool, he obtained his degree from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Belgrade. During the first seven years of his career, he worked as a software engineer, focusing on developing large-scale software business solutions. Subsequently, he spent a decade at Microsoft, where he dedicated most of his time to physics simulation development for video games, serving as a software engineer and team leader. In September 2023, he made a significant career shift and joined Petlja's team as a development advisor. In April 2024 he bacame the foundation's director.

Director of AI

Nebojša Vasiljević is a distinguished expert in the fields of IT and their application in education. He is currently the Director of AI at the Petlja Foundation. His deep understanding of techologies, experience in education, the IT industry and policymaking have enabled him to make a significant contribution in improving the digital literacy in Serbia, especially in regards to programming education. With his expertise in natural language processing (NLP), he contributed to steering the developmental activities of the Petlja Foundation towards the applications of generative AI. His dedication to improving the status of IT in education began during his time working as assistant minister in charge of the information society before starting at the Foundation. He finished his doctoral studies at the University of Belgrade.

Katarina Anđelković

Programme Director

Katarina graduated from the Department of Sociology at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Belgrade. After she had completed her studies, she worked at the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications for five years, where she led projects such as the Digital School, the Digital Hour contest and the Click Safe initiative. After the ministry, she worked at the Centre for Promotion of Science, for two and a half years. At the Centre, she worked on international projects, as well as on popularisation and decentralisation of science in Serbia. In 2017, when she started working in the Petlja Foundation, she went back to the field of information technology in primary and secondary school education. In her spare time, she is still involved in the promotion and popularisation of science.

Nevenka Nogo

Project coordinator

She graduated from the Faculty of Security, University of Belgrade. She won an award in the "Borislav Pekić" literary competition and published an essay in the first edition of the bilingual magazine of the Faculty of Philology, "Stagiornale." During high school and at the beginning of her studies, she volunteered for AFS, an organization that deals with student exchanges and promotes peace and stability. She also tried her hand in administration and started working in Petlja's organizational team in 2022.

Project assistant

Master student of Law at the University of Belgrade's Union Law School, specializing in Environmental Law. Graduated from Third Belgrade Gymnasium, with a bilingual proficiency in Italian. Worked at the Office for Kosovo and Metohija on the EU project "Free Legal Aid." Completed an online course on "HR - Human Resources Management" in 2021. Also gained experience as an HR Business Partner intern at CCHBC, where, as part of the internship, worked on two projects. Joined Petlja's organizational team in 2022

David Lutovac
David Lutovac
Project assistant

Graduated from the Philological Grammar School in Belgrade, specializing in the Spanish language. He tried his hand at administration, and after that, he worked as a professional chef. Employed at Petlja since March 2023 as part of the organizational team.

Biljana Saičić
Biljana Saičić
Financial associate

She graduated from the Economics faculty at the University of Belgrade. She started her proffesional career in United Bank of Belgrade, but very soon, she chose a career in foreign trade. After three years in COBEX business community, she worked for 27 years for the Galenika Beograd pharmaceutical factory in the field of foreign trade. She works in Petlja Foundation since October 2019.

Nenad graduated from the Mathematical Grammar School in Belgrade, during which he attended the Applied Physics and Electronics seminar at the Petnica Science Centre. He graduated from the School of Electrical Engineering at the University of Belgrade. He has been working in the Petlja Foundation since 2018.

Jovan graduated from the Mathematical Grammar School in Belgrade. He graduated from the Mathematics Faculty, University of Belgrade where he's currently on his masters degree programme in the Department of Computer Science. Jovan is a member of Machine Learning and Applications Group on the Mathematics Faculty.

After a few years of working in logistics and pursuing comparative improvement in the field of Java web and front-end development through courses, I had the opportunity to expand my knowledge and gain experience working on real projects. Employed at Petlja since February 2023.

Snežana Marković
Snežana Marković
Teacher Relations Associate

Snežana graduated from the Department of Informatics at the Faculty of Mathematics, University of Belgrade. She has twenty-four years of work experience in secondary schools and three years in the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development. She won the first prize at the competition “Creative School” twice. She created and worked on the implementation of several programmes for professional development in the field of distance learning, application of ICT in teaching, as well as projects in the field of education. On multiple occasions, she was a member of the committee for the development of the computer science curriculum. Snežana is the co-author and reviewer of several textbooks and manuals for teaching computer science. During her time at the ministry, she initiated the development of a new curriculum for computer science in primary and secondary schools, as well as the change of the status of computer science to a compulsory subject from the fifth grade of primary school.

Luka graduated from the "Računarska gimnazija"" highschool in Belgrade. He currently studies at the School of Electrical Engineering in Beograde at the department of software engineering. He's an assistant at the applied physics and electronics programme in Petnica Science Center.
